A Plague Tale Innocence - Custom Chapter

One of my ideas was to have a vista that showed the chapel, but also the end of the chapter that was this road climbing the mountain. Basically, hiding something in plain sight by putting something more obvious beside it.


The game is set in France during the Hundred Years' War, I had to take inspirations from real monasteries and make sure it was accurate with the time period. This one is the Tamié Abbey, in the east of France. The rectangle shaped yard and the surroundings gave me the initial idea.



Project Description

For one of our assignments in second year at IIM, we had to imagine the level design for a made-up chapter of A Plague Tale Innocence. A mock-up of the level had to be made on Unreal Engine 4, plus some documents. There were specific directives to follow, and obviously we had to work with the the limitations of Plague Tale's gameplay.

I wanted to make a level where we had to follow a group of individuals toward our goals, all the while staying out of the sight of monks in this monastery.
​
Inside the chapel we had to put a puzzle, here it was two weak points to find and destroy to make a NPC with the objective flee from a cage. Taking into account all the arsenal we have in the game, and my plot for this chapter, it was the option I found the make the most sense.
